  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day-to-day basis my role is to provide admin support to my team and other surrounding teams I also work with. This admin support can include booking rooms and meetings, producing and distributing agendas, minute taking, diary management, photocopying, scanning, calendar and inbox management, booking travel and accommodation and so on.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the programme since I started in September. It has been really eye opening and interesting to learn more about the organisation and what it does and I have discovered how important the role of business admin can be to keep everything flowing and organised. I have had fantastic support from the organisation and the training provider which has made my experience even better.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the programme is very well structured and organised. From the beginning I was in an office placement where I started to learn so much straight away. Previous to this I had an induction week which prepared me for the programme and answered any questions I had. I have regular reviews with the business admin apprentice programme leaders and with the training provider, as well as attending support sessions every 2 weeks which helps to build my knowledge and skills further.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer. I know who I can contact with any questions or worries and everyone around me is really supportive and helpful. I have reviews with the programme leaders where we go through my progress etc. and there is an inbox specifically for my apprenticeship which I can contact at any time with any queries I may have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from my training provider. I have regular reviews with my assessor in my placement where I can show her what I am doing, anything I am struggling with or can ask any questions I may need. I have her contact details if I need to ask her anything outside of the review. I also attend training sessions every 2 weeks where we are taught units, complete exams and assessments and it is something I find really helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the qualification I receive through my training provider helps me to perform a lot better in my role. This is because everything we are taught and shown is relevant to my job and my role. If I am unsure about how to do something, the training provider helps with this which then helps me perform better at work. Not only do they help with how to do things, but they also teach us why it is important we do these things and why are they needed in the workplace.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Regularly we are informed of different activities we can get involved in, such as volunteering and being on different councils etc. Every time an opportunity comes up for apprentices to get involved with, the details are sent through and we are told how we can get involved, I find this really useful and beneficial to apprentices like me.
