Network Security Strategy & Design Review

I work in projects where we review and upgrade the security platform at Lloyds. I will often have to engage with third parties to collaborate on projects and also work with other teams within the bank. It is a very exciting environment where I am always learning and talking to new people.

I have learned loads of new skills since starting. I initially had to learn all about networking, gaining certifications to prop up my CV. After this I then started to learn about the security side which I found really interesting. I am still learning new stuff every day up until this day. I also have developed my communication and business skills through my use of talking to different people.

I really enjoy the programme. I wake up excited to go to work every day and look forward to coming in to the office. I look forward to learning new things and meeting new people. Each day can be so unpredictable which is really exciting for me and my career.

The organisation isn't the best there are lots of questions and unfortunately it can be quite hard to get hold of these answers. This is just for the apprenticeship side though. When we first started there was lots of confusion as to what I should be doing to start.

I receive a lot of support from my employer. They are always willing to help and give me assistance wherever needed. Everyone is very helpful here and even if I haven't met them before they are willing to lend a helping hand. Also the senior leaders are helpful too.

My training provider are absolutely horrendous and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. There is no communication and no structure.

My qualification helps a bit but not much. There are a few crossover areas but that's about it. However It is extra knowledge so I am pretty happy to receive it and can't complain! Unfortunately I found out after It was too late that some courses could be changed. I was never told this, hence my answer for question 6.

There are lots of social activities that we can get involved in here at Lloyds. There are always events on that you can attend, for example the other week I went to paintball and last weekend I went to a driving range! There are no sport teams that I am aware of however.

It is a really fun and exciting place to work. There is lots of support and everyone genuinely wants you to succeed. You also get to meet so many people and make loads of friends. You feel like the company cares for you based on their values and how they treat staff which is a really nice touch.

Make sure you are yourself when you apply. Don't pretend to be someone else in the interview. They are looking for people with character who can go far in their career here in Lloyds. Also enjoy the interview day! It's not like other companies and is a lot of fun!
