  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a insurance renewal consultant in the motor insurance industry. I speak customers about their renewals and also solve queries they have about their car insurance. My job is to look into the price of their renewals and see if there is anything we can do to reduce it.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned many skills whilst doing this apprenticeship especially with it being a customer facing job. One major skill i have developed is my confidence. You need to be confident in this line of work especially when dealing with difficult customers. Another skill i have developed is my team working skills as we have to work in a team to get your stats in month on month.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programme has been an okay process. There were some difficulties in the programme and has caused some set backs on the time scale of the apprenticeship being completed. Every query or complaint we have had about the programme has been corrected properly and in a timely manner so it is okay.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the organisation is organised quite well. At the start of the programme though the organisation was a bit bumpy and it was a difficult start. But for now we have managed to squash the difficulties we have had when we started the programme so the structure is a lot better from when we started.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You do receive a lot of support from the employer during the programme. When we had our difficulties at the start the employer has always been on our side and has helped us solve any problems we have had. Also if you have any questions about the programme there is support available in the company.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Every module that i do in the apprenticeship relates back to my job role. so the information i learn from the books i can use while i am on the phone with customers. When i get them difficult calls i can use the knowledge i have learnt from the books.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are not a lot of things that we can do that is linked with the apprenticeship. We do get team incentives though when we do well as a team due to our stats. So if we do well and are the best team on the floor then we can do things like go karting.
