  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Footfall data being collected for hosiery and jewellery in the morning (on a monday weekly) Communicating with suppliers to see what their objectives are Arranging meetings with internal sectors - ROI, supply, finance teams Range selections to understand what the trends are and what we have to offer. Price changes to ensure we are obeying the trading standards agency.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes - working in an office environement with various people with a great amount of expertise is a great way to learn things you never would have. Understanding how different programs work on the computer, this is a great way of increasing my IT skills, as well as increasing my organisation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I rerally enjoy my program, the progress I will make over my time at Boots is really exciting and I am intruiged to see where I will be this time next year, which may ocnsist of being i a different team, which helps increase my knowledge on the company, products customers and suppliers etc.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised, since my first day within the role I have known the days I'll be studying at university for the whole year which helps understand when I will be out the office, so I can help plan meetings and training around those days. I also recieve daily invites to meetings which automatiucally get added to my calendar which help visualise the weeks ahead.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve a lot of support in many different areas, for example, my degree at university to my development within the business, as well as outside of work. They also look for the best opportunities in relation to training to see what will increase my knowledge and skills to help me in my role.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • It's okay, I feel like we could recieve a better service in relation to receiving our feedback, it's always late and they never apologise, even though it effects our time, because without the feedback from our accessor we arent able to make the improvements they are wanting us to make, which can improve our knowledge and skills.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have recently learnt a lot of things since starting my degree however I believe that organisational behaviour, whihc is all about how businesses tailor their ethics around their employees, their benefits, their work load, has helped me understand why we do certain things, for example the way we communicate with one another etc.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, a various amount of activities, for example in the summer they have summer fairs where they hold BBqs, sporting games, competitions where they welcome all employees, as well as, their family and frends. They have a gym where they offer varoius sporting facilitiues for a low cost and charity work throughout the year, they host one of the main call centres for Children In Need which is so fun to get involved with.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They have a brilliant working environement for everyone in their head office, as well as stores, warehouses, customer service team etc. They care for all their colleauges and make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. They treat everyone fairly and they have a number of opportunities for progress throughout your career and whilst maybe even going through promotions.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
  • In relation to effort within the application, they believe it is really crucial to display your love the job you are applying for, put in as much effort as you can as it will not go unoticed, as well as being friendly, honest and show off the passion you have for the company.
