  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I spend the majority of my time at Head Office, Birmingham. While in the office, I will attend meetings with the Cyber Team, shadow processes, learn how to use systems and tools, spend time with different relevant business areas, have one-to-one learning sessions, attend training seminars and complete BAU activities.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout my apprenticeship so far, I have significantly developed my personal and professional skillset. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I use Outlook to effectively plan my day and week ahead. Once I have accounted for meetings and sessions booked in, I am able to prioritise my work and book in time for my remaining objectives. In terms of my regular training sessions and my training plan, my apprentice scheme is very well organised and structured. We have regular catch-ups and scheduled meetings with the apprentices for progress reports, which are booked well in advance.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I have received from Wesleyan, since my apprenticeship commenced has been none-stop! I have regular meetings and catch ups with my line manager, who continually offers support. I have a mentor who has been amazing for less work related support and advice. I have regular catch-ups with various members of the apprenticeship scheme who offer constant support with my college course, job role and anything work or none work related!

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has been divided into two separate parts. I attended BMET college for classroom sessions, which were in preparation for my exams. I felt the support there was extremely limited. However, I have a College Mentor who has visited me at Head Office or at the college campus in regards to my coursework, she was extremely supportive and was very helpful throughout.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Specifically for my role in Cyber, the business administration course wasn't overly relevant. However, coming straight from sixth form into a business environment, the business admin course has been very effective to supporting my apprentice! For every day activities, attending meetings and administration within my role, the course has supported massively.
