  • I am a Software Engineer, my day to day tasks involve working with various teams and an external company to implement a new system for the LBGs ATMs.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed skills in a variety of technologies like, C#, Java, Powershell, UNIX and SQL. I have also attended external training at IBM for a deployment application call UrbanCode.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is really good and I have learnt a lot in my first year of the apprenticeship. There is a lot of support from both university and work which is helping to develop my skills.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Lloyds Banking Group?
  • I feel valued by LBG and my team. I have fit in well with the team and have received recognition for both my work at LBG and my progress at university.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programmes is structured very well. We receive all the relevant training required for our team and time is also provided to study for assignments and exams.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a lot of support from my training provider. Outside of lectures the lecturers are always happy to help with any queries and support I need.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer also provides support I need. I am given time to study and members of my team help with any topics I am struggling with. The team are always happy to help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is really good and covers all costs sufficiently.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are a lot of volunteering opportunities and conferences that you can attend. Also the team has away days where the team gets together to improve moral and team bonding.

  • Yes

  • It is a great organisation to work for, who provide all the support needed to help you develop in your career.

  • It is a tough process to go through but coming to the assessment days prepared and confident will help.
