I work with the camera crews - this involves going out on location. Meeting lots of different people on a daily basis. I film Interviews and practise editing.
I developed my editing skills, learning new software. I can now use a professional camera and have also developed my communication skills.
I enjoy my programme. Each day is something new.
I feel valued by the BBC - a lot of my colleagues are extremely helpful and often compliment the scheme. I also think the benefits of the BBC - such as expenses, work phones - help to make use feel equal amongst full time employees.
For my department it is well organised - I know what I am doing for the year and the courses and college weeks have fixed dates. On a day-to-day basis I often do not know what I am doing but that is apart of working in News.
From the crews I work with, I receive a lot of training.
I assume the BBC Academy - they are supportive but we do not working with them so it is different.
For me living at home - the salary/benefits meet my costs well.
I hope so after the year. Right now the scheme is my opportunity.
Yes
The salary/benefits is good. You really learn a lot which you take on for work and your future.
Know what you want to go into so you do not waste your year.
