I'm a production management assistant in BBC Learning so my day to day responsibilities are things like raising PO's and contracts. Using SAP and booking trains/ travel/ transport/ rooms. I also contribute editorially, subtitling and editing online content.
I've learnt how to use various bits of software and technology. I have also been on numerous courses such as first aid, carbon literacy and safe management of TV productions
I get on really well with my team and feel valued. I also enjoy the academic aspect and my fellow apprentice cohort.
I have received an award within my department for my contributions which was really nice.
I think on the whole the scheme is quite well organised. The scheme managers will always help out in whatever capacity they can when you need them. However they also encourage independence and resolving your own issues which I think is good.
I don't find the learning aspect particularly hard so I'm not struggling at all and Martina is very helpful and a good teacher.
My line manager is very supportive.
I live at home so the salary is fine for me, however if I had to move for work or if it wasn't feasible to live at home, it would be harder to live off.
There is always lots going on at Media City which I'm trying to get more involved with, I joined the staff choir which I really enjoyed and I'm on the look out for another hobby.
Yes
I'm having a lot of fun and it's a great opportunity to break into this industry.
I would say that they shouldn't worry about having media experience, more that they can show that they can manage their time and work effectively.
