  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Creative Marketing team at the minute and my role is to make some trails for TV to promote programmes on BBC One and Two. At the minute I have got a role in promotion for BBC Music for their big year of music in 2018 and I am working on short video content for social media. I am seeing the project through from start to finish by myself, writing the treatment, script, directing and also editing the whole thing. It's a challenge but I'm excited to have something to produce that I can really call my own.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've developed my editing skills on premiere pro and I've definitely learnt how to be more organised and how to plan ahead. I'm also on Production Management training as part of the Apprenticeship and I'm learning a lot of skills on budgeting and how to make schedules.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've landed lucky with my team as they've all accepted me with open arms. They give me responsibilities and they understand I'm their as a colleague and not just work experience which I really appreciate. I enjoy the training and college aspect of the programme as well and it's great for networking.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • everything has ran smoothly so far and there has been great organisation. However, there was slight confusion and not enough clarity before we started our placements on what they were and where they were which made going into our placements a little more nerve wrecking. Now that I am settled however, I know who to go to for help and they are always very willing.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Whenever I need any help or advice, everyone is very willing to have a chat with me. I feel comfortable to ask my manager for help with my tasks and he's always able to guide me in the right direction.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support as I was provided with a mentor that I have developed a relationship with where I know I could go to her for help with anything. My manager not only helps me with current responsibilities of mine but also talks to me about my future plans for employment and seems keen to help me out where he can.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I am still living at home so the only cost I have every month is travel costs to work so my salary is very satisfactory.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I've volunteered to be a school report mentor where I can go to the school I've been matched with and hold workshops and I can also just offer any advice and guidance to the teacher if needs be.
