  • My role involves working on collaboration within the firm. We leverage technology to help us do this. We enable communication and transfer of information throughout the firm. My job involves working on a specific project. This almost often usually involves some form of coding. I am also involved in improving and upgrading the SDLC process of my team

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills ever since I started my apprenticeship. My presentation skills has significantly improved as I have to present every academic semester. My technical skills has also improved dramatically, I am able to work on projects independently. I can write and deploy code proficiently. I also have access to training resources to enable improve both my technical and professional skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have totally enjoyed the degree apprenticeship programme ever since I i started. I have been able to make an impact to my team and the firm in general. The company culture is also very amazing, everyone is will to help and explain something you may not understand. There is also access to lots of internal training resources. It exceeded my expectations.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Goldman Sachs?
  • I feel very valued by my team and the firm in general. I always receive appreciation from my manager on completion of a project. This is what keeps me going. I also enjoy being involved being in a bigger project, this makes me feel like I am part of something big and challenges me to think outside the box.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured and organised. The studying is strictly set during the week to ensure that we have to go to or university lectures. The support meeting are also very good, as they give us a place, where we can discuss ongoing issues we are facing. My team is also very organised, task are delegated evenly and team hierarchy is well structured.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have received a lot of support from my training provider. They are very accommodating to our need. They assigned us with a Tutor, who listens to problems I may be facing in our studies and tries to help use solve them. They are very easy to reach out to and they generally have a good attitude towards supporting us.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a great level of support, while in the degree apprenticeship. My manager has been very helpful and accommodating to the fact that I have to attend university every week. He also ensure that my projects are challenging enough to ensure that I do not loose interest in them. The HR team has also been very helpful to my experience, the assign you with a mentor, whose job is to listen to your needs and give you advise on how they can be tackled. They are also very accessible to reach out to and they respond to queries very quickly

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I am able to pay my rent/accommodation, pay for my feeding and other miscellaneous cost like social activities. I also have little left to put towards my savings, which is good

  • The are many opportunities outside work. There are sport societies, like football that meet up weekly to have friendly games. There is also so many volunteering opportunities, which enable you to make an impact in the community.

  • Yes

  • It is a place, where your feel you are making significant contribution to the firm . You will also feel as part of a team, because you will be involved in real life project. The culture is also very inclusive, everyone is happy to help you on whatever issues you may have.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs?
  • Always do your research when applying to company like Goldman Sachs, it shines a good light on you that you prepared for the interview. Also make sure to portray your passion for technology.
