  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks involves managing few mailboxes for the team. One of my main responsibility is to process invoices payments for the team. I interact a lot with really senior stakeholders within the bank. I don't deal with external customers a lot but I do however work for a lot of internal senior stakeholders. You will learn a lot within the first 6 months.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Communications skills has increased significantly. Stakeholders management, coaching, presentation and speaking skills are the areas were I can see a significant difference after joing RBS

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Work is good and team is the best team. Company culture is entirely different but it is easily adaptable.

  • Good appreciation on the programme from very senior people internally and externally.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Structured very well in terms of learning journey throughout the apprenticeship but not structured very in terms of what we learn from the job/ do on our role.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Good support but they don't know a lot about the apprenticeship in general.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You will get a buddy and a mentor as soon as you start with the bank. My team is always very very helpful in supporting me.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I am a commuter and hence travel eats half of my salary :(

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, there are so many networking events & opportunities, breakfast and lunch talks with Executives from the bank. There are also some sporting communities you can join too.

  • Yes

  • Best option/solution to get into banking at a young age!!!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • Take your time and read some forums on banking interviews/apprenticeship interviews. If you know someone who works in the bank it does help!!!
