  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I was a plumber's assistant, i would aid and assist the plumber i was allocated to that day where needed following him on jobs and helping where he needed help and interacting with customers. My day to day duties were different everyday. I was also responsible for ordering stock.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learnt many skills whilst doing my work experience including Unblocking drains and toilets in residential properties and the internal working of the whole household plumping. How to deal with customers and price up quotes.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy this placement tremendously. Everybody was really friendly and we had a good laugh. It met all my expectations and i leant alot about the plumbing and the working environment in general. I enjoyed it very much and would happily do it again if given the opportunity.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pimlico Plumbers?
  • I always felt highly valued and appreciated by pimilco plumbers and was treated like all the other member of staff by a close friendly team. I got praised alot by the manager and staff members and constantly got recognized for my achievements and felt my time there was well deserved.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I received alot of support from my training. Both on the job training and back at the office i got guidance and tuition and help with any problems i encountered and anything i didnt understand.The manager was always available to help or answer any queries i had as were other helpful staff members

  • There was plenty of support and training and the manager was always available to help or answer any queries i had as were other helpful staff members. The work experience was organized well and taught me alot. Great care was taken that i understand what i was being taught.

  • I wasnt employed so didnt receive any support. but only from the work experience placement.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I didnt receive any salary or costs and since i live locally didnt need bus fares.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • They were all very friendly at pimlico plumbers and would always invite me to the pub whether it be during lunch break or after work .There werent any social gatherings whilst i was doing my work experience but i am absolutely sure that i would of been invited if there were.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It was a friendly and educational place to do work experience which taught me a lot about the plumping trade as well as work experience in general day to day work experience with dealing with customer service and time management and will look good on your CV for future employers.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pimlico Plumbers?
  • Thats Pimlico Plumbers is a great place to do work experience. Its a fun and friendly and i would definitely recommend it to anyone. You will learn alot and it will help you gain employment. Go there with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn and you will be good.
