  • I am a software engineer and I currently work on F-35. I am also working on a spreadsheet task as well as other stretch objectives. I attend UCLan on a Monday and Tuesday to complete my degree

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to program basic applications and how the system lifecycle is followed within the company. I have also learnt the about the quality testing processes that need to be followed in order for any software to be released

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy work although at times there may not be a lot of it. The company is a brilliant company to work for and it exceeded my expectations

  • I feel extremely valued as the company understands that apprentices are the future of the company therefore they want you to succeed.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As this is only the second year that the programme is running it can sometimes be a bit bumpy. However, on the whole I believe it is very well done.

  • Any time I have any issues there is always someone I can see to help solve these issues.

  • I have been involved in a lot of activities outside of work including company events, recruitment fairs, volunteer charity work.

  • Great company to work for. Good pay, good support, surrounded by experts in their field.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • be your best self. Sell yourself, don't put others down. Take every opportunity that you can; its all about learning.
