I am supporting Relationship Managers/ Assistant relationship managers in my office. I have to do many different daily tasks e.g postal duties, answering queries from customers, customer meetings.
I have learnt to manage my time a lot better as staying organised is so important. Also I have learnt a lot through the regular reading and my BPP course.
I enjoy it very much. The team I work with are all great and always willing to help. I am also always kept very busy so my days seem to go very quickly and I am never bored.
I do feel valued by RBS as I always am being appreciated by managers and think of me during meetings as assign me in particular work e.g prospecting for new business.
Very well organised the VLE and your individual learning plan is great as it is a layed out timetable which is separated in steps and keeps you on your toes.
As much support as you require as obviously your colleges are going ot know a lot about the topics and can help much you also have an assessor who can walk you through any stage.
My line manager and my other employees know about my studies and want me to work towards them as a priority. I sit next to an ARM who is very experienced and answers any questions I may have.
Travel meets my costs excellently. I havea lot of disposable income for someone my age at the end of every month even after travel and other expenses.
YEs there are lots of networking events and other clubs which RBS offers. The networking events are a great way to get your name out there and stand out.
Yes
I often tell my friends to apply for the apprenticeship. I believe the busy days makes me enjoy my job very much. The prospects at the end of my career are also really motivational.
In interviews write down every good thing you can think of and learn them to use as examples during the interviews. Find the back office manual. Go to all the networking events and get your name out there.
