  • Supporting my team and producing month end information for various stakeholders across the business.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am currently working towards my accounting qualification which the bank are sponsoring. I also have carried out various on the job training and attending external training courses to develop new and existing skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love working with a extremely helpful and hard working team and enjoy the challenges that are thrown my way. It is fast paced at times but overall I thoroughly enjoy working here.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by NatWest?
  • RBS value all members of staff but they really value their younger members as they are the future of RBS. They are keen to get young people involved and exposed to a wide variety of work and really value you as part of their team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structures but due to this being the first year of the programme there are a lot of improvements that can be made. Being a part of these improvements is a create as the course is being moulded into something that the younger generation want and need.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our training provider gives us lots of support throughout our course however a lot of improvements can be made again with regards to what is included in the course and what is not.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer provides myself with a lot of support in completing my exams. My line manager and team are eager to help and support what I am doing - they are keen to review my work I am submitting and it is helpful for me to get feedback about this.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Living in a large city is expensive - especially because I live alone but the salary for someone of my age and level is excellent! Everyone wants more but it is a very competitive salary to begin with.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are lots of events that different departments host throughout the year such as bowling nights of pay day drinks which is great fun! it allows you to network within your department/cross department! There are also lots of clubs here which anyone can be involved with.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe this is great place to work and really cares about young people just starting their careers. RBS value all of their employees and are willing to listen if anyone has a problem! I love working in this organisation!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • Come prepared to the interview and learn a bit about the company for example their values or their goal - it shows you are interested and have gone out of your way to do some research on the company. It will make you stand out from the rest!
