I am a technical support engineer, I assist my mentor on his daily activity including being involved in business tender within our division. I assist with customer training sessions and travel with my mentor to experience field trials for some tenders.
Ive learnt a lot about the division I am in and the products involved in my activities. I have developed communication skills and been involved in formal meetings which is great experience to be engaged with.
I Find it boring at times and find that there is not always something to do, or find myself lacking in motivation, but I enjoy certain aspects of the programme for example I enjoy being involved in important business meetings.
Our division is very isolated from the rest of the team so I don't really interact over work related conversation with the rest of the team so sometimes I feel ignored or out on a limb.
My programme is well organised but there is a lack of communication between my training provider and workplace so it feels like I am left to chase people to get what I need. My mentor is very helpful and my tutor at college is very good also.
my training provider is hard to contact and I rarely have communication with him but my college tutors are very good and help me with my struggles.
my employer is very good at supporting me and is very understanding with any problems I have. All the team are very approachable and will give guidance wherever they can.
My salary is not very good but meets my costs. It sometimes does leave me struggling for money at the end of the month, but my travel is simple and I am not located far away from my workplace.
There are social company events externally but none that I have attended, our team sometimes goes for a pub lunch or special dinner for an occasion. There was a sports club that I was involved with last year, I joined the football team for a season.
Yes
It is a very ethical company, with a free working environment, I never feel suffocated at work, it is a more lenient company that are very good with their employees. All colleagues are very friendly and approachable.
Be honest in interviews and through the application process, and just be yourself. They will prefer an employee with good initiative with a bright personality, someone who is easy to get on with.
