1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am in the PMO. I carry out tasks around change control, forecasting, finance project plans and so on. I hold a few meetngs during the week and do a lot of communicaton via email and face to face conversations. I am responsible for setting up any new change requests and cascading them to the correct areas. I am also responsible for the forecast of two areas within the Java Delivery Centre.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt an awful lot and I feel my IT skills have developed greatly. Through my business admin level 3 NVQ I feel I have learnt a lot more about how a business works and about things like negotiation in a business environment.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme. I have learnt an awful lot in the year I have been with. I've learnt to communicate with people a lot higher than me. I have learnt a lot about team work and how we can support each other. I have enjoyed things like team meals and days out with my team.

4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?

I feel like my manager values my input and the rest of the teams massively. He always passes ideas by us and helps to develop new ways of working. He also values each team members separate skills.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is mainly structured around my college course. At first I found plenty of college time but now I struggle and just do it as and when I can. When I first joined capgemini I thought the induction was great fun and very informative of the things to come. Throughout my apprentceship I haven't had very regular meetings from my reviewer and I had been here nearly a year before I was given a mentor.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

From a college point of view the work is very much do it yurself and you recieve lttle to no help. In the workplace I have recieved training from all of my team to help me to learn the tasks I need to carry out. At first I struggled getting people's help but this is no longer a problem.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve plenty of support from capgemini. I had a few problems around sickness when I begun the course and was unfairly treated but these were resolved and forgotten. I have found now the company always make sure I am provided with any support I need.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary is difficult to live on but I understand that it is a very good salary compared to any other apprentices.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

Capgemini holds lots of company events such as the christmas party. We also have team meals and go to events like the xmas market. I have taken part in a variety of charity events baking cakes and collecting christmas presents for the homeless. I am part of the sports and social club and have attended many of their trips such as disneyland paris, germany, and the harry potter tours.

9. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

Since working at Capgemini I have developed my skill set massively, as well as developing as a person. Everyone is willing to help each other on our journeys and make the best of our jobs.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?

Applying online was easy and I recieved an email within 2 days. For the interviews I would advise people to be themselves and be confident. I think you should make the best of your apprenticeship and take all the training you can get.
