BBC Apprentice Work across all departments at BBC Scotland, from Sport, Radio, Learning, News, Media Central, Factual Development and Children's Development.
Yes - Working with industry standard editing software. Continued to develop me communication skills, to find new opportunities.
Really enjoyed meeting new people, I have met some very supportive members of staff who have helped me with some career advice and helped me develop and learn the necessary skills to succeed in the media industry. Very thankful to people who have given up their own time to help teach me new skills.
I feel that if staff knew more about each apprentice before starting a new department, more opportunities and responsibilities would be given out to each individual.
I feel that time in each department could be altered to suit the individuals chosen career path. I also feel that you could lower the amount of apprentices taken on for the year, in order to get a more in depth experience in each department.
Difficult one, feel that you could spend more time with the training provider. Feel that the time that is allocated each week is not enough, again because of the number of apprentices.
I have received support when I have required it. Normally we meet every month to have a catch up and I feel that this has worked well over the course.
Ok, It allows me to live in a nice flat and have steak every now and again!
Yes, I have worked on a couple of different programmes for BBC Radio Scotland. A highlight of the whole experience has been working of Get It On, manning the phones.
Yes
If you want a career in the media industry, and enjoy it, then it would be difficult to find a better place to work.
Make sure that you believe in your own abilities and be confident!
