Every day is different, depending on the department you are in I have learned something new everyday and gained so much experience. From general admin work to on location shoots and editing the role changes dependant on what is required from the employer.
I have gained so many new skills and developed my existing skills trying everything that I am asked to do and gaining a better knowledge and understanding of this industry.
It has been the best thing I have ever been able to be a part of in my life. Meeting new people and developing myself as a person, the entire programme is a great opportunity for anyone interested in this field of work.
I feel extremely valued, I have faced some tough times and massive life changes whilst on the apprenticeship and the staff and colleagues have been extremely understanding and supportive. I have managed to make a good enough impression to be offered bigger opportunities on productions and events.
It is very well organised within the BBC, all the staff are keen to help us learn and discover more about the work that is done here. The only issue is maybe the college work, some of the questions are difficult to answer as the questions are related to things that you may not have had a chance to do yet so having to work extra hard to seek out the information to answer the questions can be quite difficult.
I have recieved a great amount of support from my training provider as well as other colleagues throughout my time in the appretniceship.
No matter what the issue has been my employer has been extremely understanding and supportive throughout.
Unfortunately I live on my own unlike fellow apprentices, I am just managing to maintain paying all my bills but it has been a struggle.
Yes I have worked many events outside the apprenticeship through recommendation by my employer based on my capabilities and work ethics
Yes
It is an incredible opportunity and anyone interested in being in this industry it is a great place to start, with friendly staff and a busy work place there is new things to be learned everyday.
I would advise people not to be worried with it being such a large corporation, my colleagues are all friendly and willing to help you learn. Give it your all and you will go far.
