1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a Technology apprentice in the Services division within RBS. On a day-to-day basis I am always advancing my knowledge, I also get involved in what my team do as much as I can while learning. I am also currently planning for an internal website to promote the software that my team uses.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am always building on my knowledge in the technology area, learning new technical terms. Added to this, my most my day requires being at a computer so my skills have improved in this area as well and will continue to do so. My communication skills being in a completely new workplace I think have also developed.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do really enjoy my programme as I love to learn new things, although there can be times where I have nothing to do and cannot yet help my team further as it is a complicated process and I still have a lot to learn.

4. How valued do you feel by RBS?

I feel quite valued my RBS as I have been given further training to participate in and been invied to volunteer at a careers fair where RBS will have a stall- so I am looking forward to that.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The training involved in my apprenticeship is very structured as I have been given a timetable detailing my online lesson times and I am also given half a day of time at work to do my studies per-week. Although my day- to day work activities are not that structured.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

I am due to start my training in a few weeks (there has been a delay) So I can't comment on the support I have although I have been given clear instructions on how to fill out the required documents for them and a handbook to refer to.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve a lot of support from my manager- I have regular 1-1 catch ups every week and I am always welcomed to message him with any questions which is really helpful.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary was mre than I expected as it is higher than a lot of other apprenticeships I have looked at so I am very happy with this- It meets my costs well.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

I have been invited to a few apprentice events and opportunites to get to know more people but these have been organised my us ourselves. Other than this, as I have mentioned I have been invited to volunteer at a careers fair for RBS.

9a. Would you recommend RBS to a friend? *

9b. Why? *

It is a perfect opportunity for anyone who prefers to learn on the job. There are many opporunities to further yourself or even join and experience new teams so overall you are sure to have a knowledgable experience.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RBS? *

I would say to prepare well for your telephone interview and assessment centre- just so you're not suprised for anything! Then you will be fine, everyone I met were very friendly so don't be scared.
