  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Some of the skills I have developed so far are communication and confidence. I have improved my ways of communicating with different colleagues across the business and I am now more confident when interacting with many different teams and individuals on a day to day basis. My organisation skills have also improved whilst working at Boots regarding planning my time, organising meetings and making sure I am aware and up to date on everything I am involved in.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme because of the variety it entails and the way our 2 years is planned out. We have half a day a week at college which enables us the complete our qualifications. There are also lots of additional qualifications we can conmplete throughout our time here, some of which I am involved in. The atmosphere of the apprenticeship and the planning behind it is extremely good, not just around work but also team building events with the rest of my aprenticeship group. I really get the feeling I am valued within the business and everyone just wants me to succeed.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • I feel valued by Boots by everyones concern and interest with how I am getitng on. I have many people pop time in my diary to have a quick catch up and review on how I am getting on, even people who aren't my line managers or within my team. Boots immediately gets you involded in as many things as possible, not just within your work but also events and meetings which may benefit your understanding of the business and what goes on thorughout the year. I met with many many people within my first few weeks who simply introduced themselves and told me what they do, afterwards they all told me to see them if ever I needed help and wished me luck with my apprenticeship. I have also been given some responsibilies already which makes me feel trusted and valued within the company which is great for saying I haven't been here all that long.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel our programme is well organised and now we are witin the business we get any information we need promptly. There were a few hiccups at the beginning with the acceptance of my results but after a phonecall everything was sorted very quickly and efficiently which I was pleased with. Our qualification side of things has already been fully planned out for the full 2 years so we already feel very sure of what will be doing throughout our apprenticeship so we can also plan ahead as well.

  • My training provider has supported me whenver I have needed it, regarding informning me of an outline of the programme and the qualifications I am completing, which I was unsure about. She is also great at explaining work to me that I am confused about and holds drop-in support sessions every week for us all to go to if we need any help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary meets my costs very well as I still live at home. It allows me to pay for my car, phone and holidays and anything else I need as well as living comfortably throughout the month. I think the salary for our apprenticeship is very reasonable, especially for the age we are.
