Firstly everyone takes part in a daily start up meeting to resolve any problems that were encountered the day before. then we crack on with our jobs which may be handfitting, machining or electrical.
I have learned loads of skills which are very valuable in the workplace and have done many qualifications including first aid at work and working towards a BTEC higher national diploma in aeronautical engineering.
%he programme is fantastic and as i am very interested in engineering i go to work in the morning with a smile on my face and looking forward to what i will be doing today.
I feel very valued along with the other apprentices and as a huge global company all the apprentices are respected the same and the company take pride in us and our work as we are the next generation of who will be working for the company.
Induction was very informative of our job role and on the initial placements we learnt many valuable engineering skills however in some cases as the time went on there was a lack of work to be done as the core learning had been completed and small jobs were just added on.
All the instructors at the training centre are more than happy to help with any problems you come across so they can help you resolve it and they help you to deal with it next time if the problem reoccurs.
A lot of support is given throughout the company as well as through the union. Everyone is definitely approachable and they are very happy to resolve any issues you have.
The wage is more than sufficient for me as I do not have many outgoings however some people who pay rent or pay off the mortgage say they could do with extra to help them get by.
There are quite a few opportunities to do inside of work like the outward bound week and the community project week that all of the apprentices went on. There are also many opportunities outside of work like the football team and other engineering events.
