Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) are responsible for the day to day running of Fidelity’s IT solutions and services, providing a secure, reliable and accessible digital platform on a global scale. This enables our employees and customers to feel supported and secure.

What you’ll be doing:

The purpose of this role is to support the Business Manager who reports into the Head of Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) with the effective management of the function. This role will specifically support TIS on various communications, meeting organisation, global webinar and learning initiatives, project oversight, data analysis and general administrative activities. The role will include working closely with many different stakeholders across TIS and technology, as well as around the world.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support to the TIS Business Manager
  • Observe and summarise key project meetings
  • Production and coordination of data and statistics to inform key decision making for the business
  • Support communication across TIS, including Zoom webinars and updates on global Microsoft Teams channels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the department
  • Engagement with Microsoft O365 services - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc

As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a number of different teams, which might include:

Service Management & TechHub: This team is responsible for helping to resolve problems and/or changes with the technology we use at Fidelity. The team provides IT support to employees in every Fidelity office around the world.

Delivery Support: This area manages any changes to the way our employees and services work within TIS.

Collaboration Technology: The team are responsible for the development, engineering, maintenance and support of Technology which Fidelity staff use every day to be productive.

Data Services: This area is responsible for the engineering, support and consultancy for all structured and unstructured Data Services, Data Visualisation and Virtualisation platforms. The team also provide tooling to support the movement of data across the organisation.

ChatBot, PaaSOps & CloudOps: These teams are driving change within the organisation looking for opportunities to challenge, improve & enable Fidelity to realise the full benefits of adopting agile development practises through increased use of the Fidelity Clouds.

Platform Services, Bridge & Infrastructure Strategy: The Platform Services team take care of engineering, supporting and assisting programmes on iSeries, UNIX, Storage, Backup, Virtualisation and Shuttle build service. The Bridge supports our major platforms on a 24x7 basis. The Infrastructure Strategy Group are responsible for driving strategic direction of our infra platforms.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths and a Further Education qualification (A Levels, BTEC, IB etc.)
  • Be available to join us in September 2022
  • Have good computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point preferred)
  • Have excellent communication skills

Training and Development

Over your two-year apprenticeship programme, you will be based in our Surrey offices, where you’ll not only learn how our operations team contribute to making our organisation work seamlessly, but also build your knowledge of the wider business.

You’ll start your apprenticeship with a mini induction during which we’ll introduce you to investment management and how it fits into the City. After that, there are many more ways to develop your skills as your apprenticeship progresses.

At every stage, your development will be underpinned by the best apprenticeship training and professional certified courses.

Unlike other firms that hire on a volume basis, we take on a select number of apprentices. You will be highly valued here, so your development is heavily invested in from day one.
