Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Degree Apprenticeship
On this apprenticeship, you’ll join an integral part of Dstl - the Threat Evaluation Group (TEG). TEG carry out cutting-edge research and evaluation activities that directly impact the effectiveness of UK forces. It means you’ll learn incredibly unique things. The apprenticeship covers all aspects of practical air, land and sea evaluation. You’ll learn skills in everything from electrical circuit theory and electronic components, to structured software programming and health and safety. Plus, you’ll complete a fully funded BEng(Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering.
To join, you’ll have an A-Level (or equivalent) in mathematics and another additional STEM subject. This’ll be supported by knowledge or experience in relevant areas, some of which may include: analogue and digital electronics, microcontrollers, digital signal processers, guidance and control systems and others. Ideally, you’ll have engineering computing skills, but, more importantly, you’ll be logical and systematic. You’ll also be curious about how things work, and keen to solve problems creatively.
Dstl is responsible for designing, developing and applying the very latest in science and technology for the benefit of UK defence and security, across government. In our work, we partner with other brilliant people – collaborating with everyone from small companies and world-class universities, to large defence organisations and other nations. Together, we develop battle-winning technologies, based on deep and widespread research.
