About RateMyApprenticeship

RateMyApprenticeship is a resource for students, schools and parents. We aim to educate young people about their career options, and inspire them to take an exciting next step after they leave school or college.

Our mission

We provide students with peer-to-peer feedback on apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships and other school leaver programmes, to help them find the right scheme to apply for, and the right employer to work for.

Over 16,000 reviews have been submitted on RateMyApprenticeship, all written by apprentices about their experiences working for employers in a range of industries. The reviews are the basis for our Top 100 Employers, which reveals the best UK companies to work for (based on the feedback from that year). As well as reviews, we advertise apprenticeship vacancies with opportunities for students across the UK, alongside expert careers advice.

RateMyApprenticeship is the sister website of RateMyPlacement, formed by three Loughborough undergraduates, Ali Lindsay, Oliver Sidwell and Chris Wickson in 2007. RMP entered the school leaver market in 2013 following The Richard Review, which highlighted the ‘lack of impartial advice’ for school and college leavers. The rise in tuition fees also made it crucial - now, more than ever - for young people to know and understand the alternatives to going to university.

Since then, RateMyApprenticeship has cemented itself as the go-to website for young people taking the first steps in their career, and attracts 100,000 monthly visitors. During National Apprenticeship Week, we had over 200 live jobs on the site, including apprenticeships in the accounting, legal, banking and STEM sectors.

Students that create a free account receive relevant apprenticeship and school leaver opportunities direct to their inbox, with reminders when deadlines are approaching. Our monthly student newsletter keeps students up to date with our latest application and interviews advice. We also write a newsletter for schools, ensuring teachers and careers advisers have access to the resources they need to educate young people about their career options.
