  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • So at Softcat my day to day role is speaking to customers and helping them understand there current IT estate and where Softcat can add value, also this is doing things like having meetings, sending out emails and also doing my apprenticeship work along side.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills and made existing skills a lot more fine tuned, such as confidence with meeting cusotmers on a day to day basis it definitely improves confidence and also with doing lots of training my knowledge has improved massively on IT.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think the programme at Softcat is brilliant it offers so many different things such as the things you learn on the job but also the coursework is set out really well and improves your job experience as well as you progress.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very structured. There is a clear path and the training helps you with your day to day job and the way its taught is very interesting and not everything is the same which makes it fun to learn.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support you receive from Softcat is brilliant, my manager is always there to help and the community at Softcat is like a family so if you have any problems or need support with anything there is always someone to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From a training provider perspective it is always brilliant I have a learner mentor which we have regular catch ups and helps me with anything I have a concern with and also if they see anything that needs improving they will point me in the right direction.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The training I receive is brilliant in terms of helping me with my job because it is so structured and there is always things I am learning that helps me with my job whether that be the training camps that are put on or the online meetings to help learn.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is multiple things that you can get involved in at Softcat such as the 5 aside team we have which is great for networking also all the events that Softcat incentivise and also put on such as Kick off which at the end each financial year they have a massive company wide get together.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think Softcat offers so much and offers so much opportunities to grow within the company. And provides a great network of people to work along side with, which makes for a great company and partnered with the great leaning provider, I wouldn't see why you wouldn't want to join Softcat.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
  • Be very excited that you are joining a great company, with a family like community and loads of opportunity to grow within the IT world.
