  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role at work is to provide a welcome, safe and friendly environment for my clients and their loved ones. Provide them with the highest quality care based on experience and knowledge of the needs of each individual client, like: personal hygiene, manual and handling, diet, life style, skin conditions, risk assessments. Respecting my clients rights and wishes. Always follow the rules and policies at my work place, reporting any concerns, promote excellent teamwork communication and provide reliable documentation’s. At the end of shift I always make sure that all my clients and my colleagues had a wonderful and good day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I think I broadened my awareness of my clients needs and understood how important it’s to build a bond and trust with my client. I became more confident in carrying out of my duties and discovering the joy of sharing my knowledge with my colleagues. I learned to control my emotions and support my colleagues in struggle moments. Additionally I developed my communication at work, developed relationships with my clients families and developed my need for further education.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I was enjoying with all programme and in every single aspect of it. Thanks to each step of the programme I built my quality of care and service for my clients, I was really appreciated wonderful and great support for my Mentor Jennifer , I built my self confidence in communication and I improved my knowledge also with help and support from my Mentor.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme was very organized. My Mentor introduced me to the programme very thoroughly, the meetings were always held on the schedule date, I always given time to study , I had the full support from my Mentor at every my step in this programme. I also received full technical support when I had problems with my laptop, I also received a positive response to work with my Mentor face to face at my workplace. I worked with the Aptem system, which also really appreciate and in my personal opinion is very helpful system during my programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer. I was always given free time when I had to study, I always received support at work from my colleagues who worked with my in a team during the programme, I also received full support from our nurses which one professionally shared their knowledge with me, my Manager always found time to talk with my about my progress and was always informed about my positive experience. Additionally I had strong support from my Mentor Jennifer throughout the programme.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received full support from my Mentor as I mentioned earlier and many times during me programme which one helped me to build my better qualifications. My Mentor was always at my disposal when I needed additional information to expand my knowledge, support in better understanding questions on exams, I received full understanding and time to work on my communication, I received full access to training materials, meetings were always scheduled and always pleasant and professional atmosphere. I received full support from my colleagues, nurses and my Manager.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that qualification I acquired during this programme helped me to perform my duties at work even better. By improving my qualifications I can provide the highest quality level of care and service for my clients, I am more aware of my duties and responsibilities at my workplace. Thanks to this programme I also improved better quality way for communication with my colleagues from my team , and developed better understanding for relationships with my clients families.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my Jo additional activities are organized, such as: a cake baking fair, each of us can bake a cake , bring it and put it on sale, and the donations will be allocated to a designated noble cause. An expedition to Snowdon was organized about 3 years ago and the collection was donated to charity, this year each of us can running a marathon to fight cancer, also we have many lotteries in which each of us willingly participates.

  • Yes

  • Because Barchester is a good place to work with many opportunities, Barchester always supported their employees to build and provide better qualifications , Barchester always provided a safe workplace and all necessary trainings. You will work in a pleasant atmosphere and have the pleasure of working with many great specialists, and the most important thing, You will have the opportunity to meet wonderful older people with interesting stories of their lives.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barchester?
  • Stay positive, give yourself time and gain knowledge and build your confidence in performing your duties, don’t be never afraid to ask for help, smile help a lot , enjoy every new experience you gain , working with a professional team helps a lot ,participating in all trainings helps a lot to learning more and better about the work
