  • I am part of the Scotland property team dealing with Student accomodations, hotels and Residential homes across Scotland and the North of England. Tasks I undertake include measurement, monthly site valuations, cost reporting and cost planning.

  • I have developed new skills and developed existing skills, like my approach to tasks and always having an open mind, how I deal with clients and being able to manage my work load alongside prioritising tasks.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. I work within a really sociable and relaxed team. I can ask anyone within the team for help with tasks and I am learning everyday

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme structure is very good. I have a clear message of working 4 days and attending university on the 5th working day during study times.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am never short of help from my fellow colleagues. I can reach out to any of them when they are available for questions and sometimes just for a chat to take my mind of some things.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My university provide support in terms of reaching out to tutors surrounding questions and queries. They also provide me with a good foundation of knowledge that is beneficiary within the Workplace.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Most of my modules completed at University are in line with some of the tasks I am completing within the workplace. I am currently working on pre-construction projects and the construction contracts module at University is tying in nicely with that.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work there are regular social events that I have attended and enjoyed. Within our office we are trying to organise some sports events for the summer.

  • Yes

  • My experience so far has been very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for work in the construction Industry


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arcadis?
  • Be yourself. This is the version that the team will be working with day to day and this will give you the best chance to getting the role.
