  • I am now responsible for the whole of of the emergency service network operationally.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a huge variety of skills through-out my apprenticeship- most notably confidence, problem solving, people management and business strategy.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I massively enjoyed my apprenticeship programme. It set me up to achieve the role I'm in now with a huge amount of learning, support and guidance along the way.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was well structured and balanced with a split of 80% work, 20% study & once every 3 months a week in Staffordshire University for new module launches.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager has been incredible through-out the whole 4.5 years my course lasted. No ask was ever too big, and he always had time to sit down and chat. I couldn't have done it without him.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I had access to my training provider Mon-Fri 9-5 most weeks minus some scheduled holidays.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my qualification has set me up to achieve things I never thought possible at only 23 years old. Without the training, guidance and confidence building - I never would've applied for this high pressure role and succeeded.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Sports Events, Chairy Events, Culture Clubs, Social Events etc.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Being only 24 years old, I've just started my 6th year with BT (25% of my whole life) and I have no plans to go anywhere. They've treated me beyond my expectations, driven me to success and supported my health and wellbeing along the way.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Take the plunge and go for it. It's well worth it.
