  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My Apprenticeship included a technical specialist role and after a few years i moved into service management for my final year of my apprenticeship. I used the internal systems to push orders through and in the service role i was helping to manage customers services and answer queries they have.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yeah i developed customer service, information systems, creative collaboration, Network skills, service management skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Yeah i enjoyed my apprenticeship and i felt like completing assignments at the training provider to work towards getting a degree was appealing and made it all worth it once i got the first class degree.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The training provider at Ravensbourne University was not that organised at times as there was a delay responding to emails to get support for assignments.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Yeah you can get support from your manager if you ask for help for each assignment or ask your work colleagues. In my group we got help from others in the uni class using a whatsapp chat.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Sometimes you can get help if you ask your teachers but there was sometimes delay in response to emails.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yeah i was happy once i received my degree as i feel like this helps provide more opportunities to different areas in the network/IT world. This has helped develop my skills and knowledge since coming out of school.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No i did not have any extra activities but there is sometimes network events but not everyone gets to hear about them all.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall, i enjoyed my apprenticeship and i am pleased the route i choose since leaving sixth form after i got my A levels. This helped me into the working world of studying and working at the same time whilst earning a salary.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Research the BT facts, principles, this helped me with the job interview. Show passion that you would fit into the BT working environment. Explain any hobbies you do outside of work as sometimes the employer likes to hear about this too to make you stand out. For the video interview i recorded myself a few times answering questions on the internet before doing the actual interview.
