  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks include contacting customers for payment remittances and confirmation of payment for invoices. I will use both email and telephone to contact customers and assist with any issues they have regarding their account. I will also submit report commentary regularly to explain the situation of accounts under my responsibility.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have found my program very well structured. I get 2 afternoons per week to completed my coursework and lessons. If there are changes in the lesson times my manager is very flexible and supportive, ensuring that I still receive my 20% off the job hours. I can also find ways to implement new learning from the course into my daily role.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer. Where there are aspects of my course that I don't cover in my day to day role they will provide me with the opportunity to speak with those who cover that aspect of work and where possible shadow them. They are always looking to help me improve my knowledge and skills and I feel very valued.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have review calls with my training provider every 6 weeks which is helpful in ensuring I am progressing well on the course. They are also available to help as and when; in my experience they are very prompt at responding to emails where I have queries or concerns. They also work well with my manager to ensure i'm receiving the best support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have gained a much better understanding of how to do my role and why it is important through working towards my qualification. Learning from other members experience on my course has also helped me prepare for scenarios that I wouldn't have otherwise been prepared for. This knowledge has also given me much more confidence when speaking with others within my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We are encouraged to complete at least 4 hours of community work each year. I enjoy this because it is different to my everyday role and it feels very rewarding. It can also be a great opportunity to speak with people that I wouldn't usually get to speak to within my working day. We also have a group in which all of the apprentices across part of the business come together to network and discuss our experiences. This is great because I have learned about other parts of the business and other apprentices journeys.
