  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to sign customers up for trade accounts, deal with high-value items, serve trade customers and deal with trade account queries and fostering customer loyalty in my store. I also handle the FOH including replenishment and stock check, ensuring it is always full of stock for our customers!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learnt many new skills, such as understanding financial information, understanding the Profit & Loss Account of my store, understanding compliance such as the laws and regulations that govern us as a business and the processes we have to follow in order to ensure we are compliant. Also learnt how new management skills as well developing existing ones.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme to the extent that it was very interactive with my coach and the class. Although, it was difficult to find time due to the ongoing needs of the business and helping other stores, it was fun for me and it was exactly what I hoped for.

  • The programme was very organised and structured into different modules. Modules that really helped me to develop into a better leader.

  • A lot of support, my employer allowed me time to do the work plus they gave me 1-on-1 support through explanation of things I didn’t understand.

  • A lot of support again, with the additional time and being there for me when I had injuries due to an accident.
