  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My responsibilities of my job role are to seek out new business opportunities and develop relationships with existing and new accounts to create more sales opportunities for the branch. I liaise a lot with customers (tradesmen and homeowners), in all forms of communication.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since beginning my role I have learnt a lot of new things and developed existing skills too. Primarily my people skills and communication, as I have to do a lot of that day to day in a lot of different situations (negative and positive).

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It definitely felt rewarding to have achieved something like this alongside of my usual workload and in that sense it was enjoyable for me.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was generally okay. Some things could have used improvement, perhaps a more concrete schedule of modules and completion dates.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager and team members within my branch have been very supportive and helpful when I've needed them to be, and if I've ever required extra support from people above my line manager I have felt I was given that too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My coach was always on hand to answer any questions or queries about a module, or schedule a call for extra support on some parts of my ILP when needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I was fresh to this industry when I started, I found it a really good helping hand to help me transition into the industry. It also encouraged me to ask my management and team questions about operations and business aspects I usually wouldn't have.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There probably are but being completely honest I haven't sought out that information.
