  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes assisting customers with any and all tool hire enquires as well as testing hire equipment in our workshop and ensuring all health and safety aspects are ahead to at all times.

  • I have learnt a variety of skills including, tool maintenance, systems management, stock management, improved stock knowledge, a better understanding of the building trade and additional mathematics skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the pace in which i was allowed to complete the course and the level of aid i was given in order to balance my work life and private life.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • While i felt the majority of the course was well organised i have had some issues on the course regarding my GCSE's. At the start of the course i was exempt from maths/English however i was later told that i had to complete English again. Then near the end of the course i was then told at due to an error i had to complete maths again which caused a lot of unnecessary stress.

  • I had lots of support from my coach who was always on hand to answer any questions big or small.

  • I had lots of support from my apprenticeship coach who was always on hand to assist me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Personally i felt i learnt more working in the branch than i did on any of my assignments on the apprenticeship.

  • No


  • 9b. Why?
  • While Travis Perkins is a good place to work, the differences in pay, responsibility and roles encourage laziness, no responsibility and poor work ethics across the firm.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Travis Perkins Plc?
  • If you are driven, dedicated and have a high tolerance level then you will succeed. Otherwise you will become deflated and unapproachable to others
