  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Teaching Assistant in KS1 in the mornings delivering phonics groups independently before helping in class with English and Math. Then help others and Nurture practitioner in the afternoons.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learn a lot more about safe guarding, curriculum and the importance of ensuring all evidence is documented and passed onto the relevant people.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed a vast majority of the program however felt the off the job hours to be confusing when working full time as to what I could use towards these hours. Also the website was not very user friendly.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Not overly. No tutor in the beginning and no one to contact as to who to ask for assistance or how to go about starting the course which left me playing catch up. Once tutor given she was exceptional.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Some, Very small school with staffing difficulties due to sickness this year led to any study time being taken up by being needed in class. However always available if I had questions or needed support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Some, I feel it would have been beneficial to have had more webinars current to the topics being assessed available to the trainee. Often had to email tutor for further clarification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Understanding the importance of what each section we were assessed on really helped me in the classroom to understand why some sessions were delivered in certain ways or the importance of safeguarding and our role in that.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, however with 2 small children I can sometimes find childcare difficult to attend these.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • My tutor was absolutely incredible. Always on hand for support or information.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Education?
  • Bare with the website smart assessor and the initial niggles getting set up. Ask tutor questions and things will become clear.
