  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work mainly in KS1 as an early reading TA helping and supporting with phonics and reading. I plan and deliver interventions for children who need that extra support - this is done either in a 1:1 basis or in a small group. In the afternoon I work with a child with SEND supporting both in and out of the classroom making sure his learning needs are met.

Having access to webinars to support my learning was beneficial. All formal reviews were managed well and kept up to date. Both myself and line manager were happy with how the course was organised and managed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification gained has helped me perform better in my role due to all the extra learning and reading I have undergone to help reach my end point assessment grade. Reading about different theorists has helped gained a better understanding of children’s learning/development and behaviour. Having this qualification has also given me opportunities to hopefully complete HLTA qualification gaining more responsibilities.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There a few extra curricular activities such as a running club. We gather weekly and run distances that vary from 5-10K and often completing weekend park runs together. We also organise Christmas/end of year outings and meals which gives us a chance to celebrate together. We also have termly quiz nights held at school for staff to attend. We have well-being meetings that include pamper afternoons.
