  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day consisted of working with a child who has special needs, I work with him on a 1:1 basis and I plan his work and get resources ready for him everyday linked to the subjects that were being taught that day, I also monitor behaviour during lunch time

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills because during this apprenticeship I was given the opportunity to work as a class 1:1 in nursery and work with sen children throughout the 18 months of my course and I had many CPD opportunities both from school I work with and LMP

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed this course because it has helped me build on my confidence by using this chance to meet new people, communication with students and parents as well as working with external agencies, I made the most of this course by accepting new tasks and offering to support

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This was really well structured because everything was clearly explained to me and the tutor I had during the apprenticeship course I completed was really helped and made sure she was there to support me whenever I needed the support and I could rely on her to support me everytime

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer was really supportive because I had a rough start and was struggling with the course at first but my employer made sure she motivated me so I did not give up and with her support I was able to achieve the distinction grade I worked really hard for

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Alot of support was given to me during the course from my tutor because she was there to support me and made sure she gave me clarity when I was unsure of something and always asked me questions for my understanding and great help during my time spent of toolkit

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have a really good understanding on schools policies and procedures because I had to talk about them in my assignments and this qualification has helped me because I received a lot of support from my tutor throughout and made sure I know and understand what is expected of me

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At the school I work at we have many different extra curricular activities including sports activities to get involved in as a time to take a break from teaching and have some done time after a long and stressful day because that is important as part of our well being

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cherry Tree Primary School to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Lots of different courses available and everyone at LMP were really supportive during the course and in terms of email response I felt like they were really good at getting back to learners so I did not have to wait too long for times when I needed supporting during assignments


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cherry Tree Primary School?
  • Make sure they have any questions ready that need to be answered and make sure they are aware of what the course is going to be like including how many assignments, meetings and duration of the course. Also to discuss what benefits and opportunities they are getting from LMP education
