  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • It is my obligation to design, analyse, develop, test, produce, and maintain mechanically based systems and products. My everyday activities involve assessing and creating parts, assemblies, and systems while collaborating closely with design engineers to make sure they meet functional, financial, and safety standards. I create models and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software, assess and improve a design's performance, continue to develop goods to keep up with the most cutting-edge technologies in the industry, and ensure that pr comply to essential standards. I also analyse failures, resolve problems, and test prototypes. I also monitor the effectiveness of production systems and communicate with clients in order to identify and correct problems.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, my position in mechanical engineering has given me the opportunity to hone my already-present talents and pick up new ones. I have the ability to design and create mechanical solutions using my analytical, quantitative, and creative problem-solving abilities. I've also improved my communication abilities because I interact with clients and coworkers frequently. I've also learned a lot about CAD software and digital production techniques.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme is quite enjoyable to me. I've learned a tonne, and I'm always picking up new knowledge. Working with knowledgeable coworkers has also been a privilege because I can learn from their vast expertise. I also enjoy using math and analytical thinking to find solutions to complex issues in order to build, create, and maintain mechanical systems. I have a fantastic sense of job satisfaction because of this.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My course is really well structured. I receive a list of tasks to complete and instructions once a month. Thanks to this, I can simply monitor my progress and make sure I meet deadlines. I also work on numerous projects at once, which helps me get to know the different sides of the business. In general, I like how my programme is organised and planned.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is quite helpful. I receive monthly training and mentoring to keep me abreast of the most recent developments in mechanical engineering. I'm also urged to attend conferences and talks that are pertinent to my programme. When I have any questions or concerns, the staff and coworkers are also very kind and nice. I feel highly supported in my role as a result.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Outstanding support is provided to me by my training provider. They are always happy to assist me with any inquiries or concerns. They give me a lot of direction and advise and keep me informed on the most recent certifications and criteria for my line of work. Additionally, they are continuously coming up with new ways for me to advance my knowledge and abilities and are continually giving me access to fresh and beneficial materials.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that having the right credentials will help me perform better in my job as a mechanical engineer. First off, it shows my company that I have the knowledge, abilities, and credentials needed to succeed. It has also given me the courage to take on more difficult projects, and I now have a greater understanding of the ideas and values that underlie the daily work I undertake.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are many extracurricular activities at work that you can participate in. We frequently plan enjoyable and social events like team building exercises, coffee mornings and lunch meetings. We take part in frequent business gatherings and networking activities, as well as having a company sports team. I'm also urged to go to conferences and talks in my field of study to stay current on advancements in mechanical engineering.
