  • I play roles such as workforce planning and recruitment process.i also ensure smooth transitioning of employees. I organise orientation where I explain company policies and procedures. On a daily basis, I oversee performance evaluation procedures and measuring work, giving feedback and identify areas and opportunities for employee growth and development.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have managed to lead my team and coordinate well with every department that ensures the hotel runs smoothly. I have also learnt to communicate and delegate tasks . My multitasking skills have been put to test and I've grown and I am able to perform efficiently under pressure and agile conditions.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme gives me an opportunity to think outside the box and come up with ideas that propel our hotel and put us in a position to compete with other hotels. This is an enjoyable activity where I get to learn and grow at the same time. This programme combined with my passion have made this an exhilarating experience.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme runs in modules that are systematically arranged to provide the training and the intended motive without any hinderance. With modules on human relations, team management, communicate customer service, the programme is a key part on gaining the important skills that go with human resource management.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer has availed the required resources from stationery , adequate qualified staff, world-class and modern equipment that have reduced wastage and slow working speed. Also we have training programmes sponsored by the hotel to give us more skills on management and other areas of expertise. The hotel also motivates employees on merit of performance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider provides the needed resources to gain qualifications . These resources include seminars and training workshops where one gets to improve their skills. I have also been in regular contact with the training provider consulting about more skills that are needed to be the best in the industry. The training provider has also been open-minded and receptive towards my own ideas.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • With hands on skills of management, problem solving and division of work, I have been able to solve real problems on performance evaluation and measuring work. I have also been effective at leading teams and organising forums where the employees can bring out their ideas and we can think together and reach common ground in many important matters.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have exchange programmes and workshops where we get to host qualified people who give talks about management and other disciplines within the hotel. This is a step towards helping the employees gain new knowledge and develop themselves. We also volunteer in community activities such as tree planting and school feeding programmes.

  • Yes

  • Choice hotels just like the name suggests is a good choice of a place to work. Choice hotels offer other programmes that give opportunities to every employee to learn and invent themselves. I would recommend choice hotels because I have full confidence in the management. There is a work friendly environment here at choice hotels.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Choice Hotels?
  • To someone applying and looking forward to join choice hotels, my advice would be to get ready to work and stay open minded and receptive to new ideas. It is important to define your area of expertise and highlight your strengths. You have to be able to learn quickly and put into proper action what has been learnt.
