  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Research, design, development, and testing of optical systems and components are all part of my job. I use the laws of light physics every day to come up with optical fixes for issues and build test prototypes. Working with lasers, optical materials, and other optical components, developing and creating prototypes, writing scripts to simulate optical systems, and resolving issues with current designs are just a few of the jobs I might be assigned. Along with dealing with vendors, suppliers, and regulatory organisations, I also write reports, present to key audiences, and engage in stakeholder communication. Additionally, I might evaluate light patterns, gauge the tolerances or fits of optical parts, and interpret the outcomes of optical testing.
