  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The apprenticeship has gave me a great insight into the world of quarrying , which is beneficial as keen student willing to learn . The POPD covers all key topic for a foot way in to the world of quarrying, and learning about what products are made on different sights . Great course.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to work In large groups and small groups and then lone working. I have learnt to listen and take other’s opinion in an account. It has also made you do one mobile plant training in which I did on a Rigid 100t dumper which I have no passed out on.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy getting out of the day to day hustle from work to a nice peaceful learning space , I have enjoyed the POPD some topics can be long however the lectures made some topics easy to understand which could be quite nitty gritty. But all in all I have enjoyed the course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised one thing they could do different in the “Save a Life” course actually make it a first aid course with a certificate but all in all the course is well structured and organised to cater for everyone’s ability to get the maximum out of everyone.

  • My employer is the best I’ve had through my working life, he so supportive and will answer any questions I have, he’ll always make time for me then any trips I want to broaden my knowledge he will organise. He does anything he can so I have a foot in the door.

  • My training provider, helps me with any problems I have .

  • It allows me to help other people with problems and any queries because I now know what to do myself.
