  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a bank support worker I am able to pick up shifts to suit my personal responsibilities/ other jobs. My job role requires me to offer support to young people in our services. Helping them to gain independence before leaving the care system through key working sessions and much more.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, inicio offers plenty of training opportunities. I have gained lots of knowledge around vulnerable children and adults and also aspects of psychology linked to childhood trauma and how we can best approach this in our services. I have developed my communication skills with staff and young people as I learn person centred care.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying my learning programme as it is allowing me to dive deeper into my role and learn new ways to handle situations in work. I en up y having the opportunity to reflect on situations and how they was dealt with and also what support was available at the time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Through the system BUD, the programme is very organized there is lots of work that can be assigned bit by bit. I have found it difficult at times to reach my trainer / have work reviewed. But when I am working with my trainer she is great and I really enjoy the 1-1 sessions.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As I have been off on maternity I haven’t seen many of my colleagues. However since enrolling on to the course I have been constantly reassured that there is support there if needed and my manager has offered to support with any work I have on by allowing in me study time on shift.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have had a nightmare recently trying to get hold of my training provider I’m not sure if there has been a changeover of staff. However, when I have been in contact they have offered lots of support to get the course progressing nice and steadily. I can contact via email or telephone.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think Paragon's style of teaching helps me perform better in my role as there is lots of opportunities to reflect on past events / situations and how they could be handled better . By exploring the things already in place at work and also new things that could be implemented to support my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes we have a summer social where the company pays for staff to go out for some food together or do something fun. Also Christmas parties and they also do things like pathways to the summit which is where we take the young people to do a hike up a mountain with all staff.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Inicio group LTD to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have been with Inicio for 3 years now and they are very consistent and efficient with their structure. Everybody is well connected and I know who to address for different situations. There is plenty of room for growth and development and the senior management are very supportive and personal.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Inicio group LTD?
  • Be sure to check out your management team and who you’ll be working with regularly. Find out what exactly is expected of your role. Make sure you are fully aware of the on call procedures. If there is anything you would like to learn more about be sure to reach out to the learning and development team and they will enroll you in further training.
