  • Audit trainee role, while undertaking the ACA exams. Day to day involves working with a team, sometimes in office and sometimes at client site.

  • Learn to work well within a team, and communicate with clients in a professional setting.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • BDO is a good company to work for with lots of social opportunities. Some tasks can often be repetitive but good opportunities for growth.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very structured, it is a three year programme with ample time for studying balances with learning on the job. Your exams are structured when you first start the programme.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • BDO do provide a lot of support during exams, there is plenty of time for college and managers are respectful that you are doing the exams.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • BPP are good with resources such as the hub, however there is a lack of communication sometimes when it comes to college locations.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The exams are helpful to provide better understanding of the role, and further cement it. However , a few exams can be a bit irrelevant when it comes to audit.

  • There are plenty of areas to get involved in at BDO, with regular socials and societies.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BDO to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel supported at BDO with my exams and my role in general. The rewards are good and pay is competitive, with overtime benefits being good compared to other large firms.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?
  • Research the firm and type of clients BDO has. Be able to demonstrate that you work well within a team and are proactive.
