  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • This apprenticeship gave me a highly informative insight and training program into the world of transport and logistics. My daily tasks include carrying out walk-round checks of all fleet vehicles before use on the road, loading and unloading of suppliers and customers, delivery of ordered goods to listed addresses, and much more.

  • I have learnt so much since starting this apprenticeship. It has allowed me to work on my customer service skills, as i interact with the customers more than any other role in the company. Keyline put me through all the necessary training needed to fufill my job role, such as forklift licence, ALLMI certification, all theory and practical hgv tests, and CPC courses.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have had a great time since I begun working on this apprenticeship, I have met lots of wonderful people who have helped to educate me and keep me going while at work. The variety of day to day life changes every day so you never know where you will be going or what you will be doing (Driving/Yardwork)

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Compared to other apprenticeships I have worked on, this course has been extremely well planned out, with training sessions and meetings being planned weeks/months in advance. All content is extremely well thought through and staff are extremely helpful and open to any questions you may have. My apprenticeship liaison Martin Sidwell has been an amazing help.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Keyline have been extremely helpful with every aspect of the apprenticeship, even with things outside of the apprenticeship, like my mental health, and money saving programmes. When it comes to asking for time to complete set work, the company tries its best to facilitate the time to finish, but understandably when busy, the job is a priority.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The staff at Mantra Learning have been vital in my progression from having no experience in the world of HGVs and Transport and Logistics, to being well versed in lots of aspects such as load security, Eco-driving, defensive driving and much more. When preparing for my test, my driver trainer (I apologise for not being able to remember his name) could not have been any more helpful.
