  • Within my role I have to show my ability to take on new information for my tutors and apply it to the necessary assignments. This information allows me learn new skills, behaviours and knowledge for my apprenticeship.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have come into this apprenticeship not knowing much at all about the skills needed for my job role. As time has progressed I have developed my collaboration skills, learnt to overcome challenges, learnt about the technology I will be using and also planning and creativity skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as this is the foundation to the knowledge and skills I need to know and use in my job role within the business. I enjoy learning all the elements needed and being able to apply them day-to-day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programme has been organised well but there is room for improvement with the assignments being handed out. We had difficulty with the amount of assignments we had and then the amount we didn't have.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get a great level of support from the employer. They are always there to help and listen to any concerns or problems we might have and will do their best to resolve the issues or help in any way they can.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We get a good level of support for the providers. We can go to the staff for help and they are always more than happy to help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through this qualification we are able to get the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for going into our job roles. We learn the different skills needed for IT, Maths etc. Without the qualification it wouldn't allow us to achieve high levels and could result in poor standards.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Personally, I don't think there is.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BAE Systems has such amazing opportunities. It is such a supportive and incredible company to work for. All the time and effort put into the apprenticeship is mirrored back once out of your time. You are recognised for you efforts and always have people around you willing to help.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • I would advice them to do their best and not waste this opportunity. Things can be hard but there are people around you who are more than happy to help. Time keeping and managing time effectively is so important especially with assignments, this will prepare you for work life targets.
