  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Where do I begin, PWC is a fantastic organisation to work for in terms of individual care and reputation. I work 4 days a week within PWC and attend university on a Friday. Hours are typically 9 am to 5 pm. My role is placed within Customer Management within the Operate branch. This role involves joining temporary projects which can last from 4 weeks to a couple months. This involves handling various business operations, which gives you a various flavours of what businesses offer. You think you are working for PWC, which in fact you don't you work for different companies for different periods of time on behalf of PWC in the professional business services sector.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have expanded by knowledge in the customer services sector and being made aware of the systems in place to do so. University has taught be invaluable information in regards to PWCs work culture and operations. As well as this my time management and professional mannerisms have improved within the PWC environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my apprenticeship with PWC and couldn't imagine doing anything else as a student. This opportunity is incredible and I strongly urge those who are interested in Business/ Business Management to apply. Jump start your career, get a degree, experience and a wage. PWC has a gorgeous new revolated building with a canteen with discounted meals for staff, free hot drink machines and free fruit. Food is restaurant quality and it is evident within the whole firm that PWC takes good care of it's employees

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is pretty well laid out for the four years. The university explains the course thoroughly on a semester by semester basis as well as a general overview at the beginning of the course. Support is ready available for all students. Currently I am 5 months into my plan and have completed sections within Personal development and Customer and Stakeholder relations.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a variety of support from dedicated clinics within the building to well supportive teams. As well as that employees are entitled to a pension and health benefits which are greatly appreciated. There is a positive culture of comfortably asking questions as well as that the university provides ample support for students.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There are many different forms of help, including well-supportive teams and specialised clinics inside the premises. The university offers plenty of support for students, and there is a strong attitude of asking questions with confidence. I could speak with my lecturer after class as well as any mental support or difficulty.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes. Training is relevant and is reinforced through practical activities. There is a strong culture of asking questions with confidence at the university as well as PWC, and there is a lot of assistance available for students. After class, I could talk to my lecturer about any mental support or challenges.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a variety of support from dedicated clinics within the building to well supportive teams. There professional networking events such as Christmas dinners and various team dinner night outs. As well as this there are opportunities to attend PWC fairs as an ambassador to advertise the programme and talk to like minded individuals.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Brilliant organisation. Brand, reputation, daily operations, positive team building culture. I am also a big sucker for the food in the restaurant as well as the hot drinks and free fruit available. I find my work enjoyable and look forward to starting the week. I like to keep busy and find this is one of the best opportunities available for students.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Apply early, best foot forward. Show you have professional mannerisms, passion and an eager to learn. Do all that and you will be flying. This is an excellent opportunity and one not to be missed. You will be working alongside like minded individuals and make friends along the way. Jumpstart your career now.
