  • Managing a team of upto 12, ensuring following policy and procedures, rotas are covered, staff compliance and upto date with training, ensuring the well bring of all individuals in my care, promoting independence, communicating daily aswell as one to one's personal development plans, promoting a safe environment for everyone

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • How to put into practice, different structures and how to risk assess on a daily basis, encourage openess, show and give dignity and respect to all individuals, how to lead by example and lead a team by using different models of communication, how to report any issues the correct way

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Developing myself further, giving me knowledge around the job role and responsibilities, involving all individuals in care planning in a person centred way, understanding everything from a managers perspective and how we utilise information on a daily basis, making relationships with outside professionals, family and friends making time for everyone

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Throughout the programme I have gained insight on many ways in which I can develop myself further and how I have been given time to complete units and prioritise my workload I can now look through my file if unsure of how to approach a concern or if needing guidance

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager has involved me with team meetings managers meetings and halls given me more responsibility within my role I can ask for her help when needed and work through any concerns together she will give me feedback on how well I am doing and qere I need to improve

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Throughout the whole programme my tutor has been really supportive I have been able to contact her when needed and she will also give any feedback with the work I completed she has given me time to complete units and has quid3d me through some tough situations dealt at work

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This programme has given me more confidence within my role it has developed my knowledge and given me a better understanding of how and what my role entails and how to use the knowledge I have in many different situations it has given me joy knowing how capable I am

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • All staff join in with many different activities and events taking place I have been involved with charity walks to raise funds for our home to make the lives of the people we support better were they have also been involved and enjoyed the different experiences making them open up

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Throughout my 4 years working for making space I have gained alot of knowledge and experience that I never had before I have also realised that in some difficult situations liasing with different staff has a positive effect making it a better environment as we all work as a team


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Making Space?
  • I would most certainly encourage them to enrol in qualifications to enhance their knowledge promote how well we follow compliance also give advice on different job opportunities that they could potentially develop further for and how myself within the team would encourage this further making the organisation a better place
