  • My day-to-day role is ensuring that the IT operation is running smoothly. I am accountable for the web, mobile applications and payments solutions. I ensure postmortems are completed and SLAs are adhered to.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel like my apprenticeship has really allowed me to grow as the subjects have mostly been relevant to my role such as IT consultancy. It has allowed me to approach projects from a different angle and become a more well-rounded employee at my organisation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme has met my expectations and I do enjoy learning about new topics such as IT Strategy. The best part of the programme has been being able to work with professionals from other companies as this has enabled me to build not only my network, but expertise of other sectors.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that Manchester Met have been well organised throughout the apprenticeship and have always been clear about any changes in the programme well in advance. Everyday is well thought out and is relevant to the assignments.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • TUI have been fantastic at supporting me as an apprentice. Whenever I have any questions, the apprenticeship team are quick to answer and management are very supportive of me being on this programme and always go above and beyond to help me find relevant projects to help me grow in-line with what I am learning at university.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Manchester Met have got an absolutely fantastic support network, lecturers are always willing to meet and it always helps having a skills coach for any general questions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the course has allowed me to really grow into the IT strategy mindset and has made me question why we do certain things in the organisation. Without going on this course, I do not think I would think as critically about certain processes as I now am.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many opportunities within the IT space such as hackathons and team meets for specialist subjects such as the agile community.

  • Yes

  • Absolutely fantastic organisation to work for. The people make this organisation great, the benefits are very fair and everyone is genuinely happy to be here and management are very approachable.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
  • As long as you have ambition and a passion for travel, TUI will be the place for you! The most important thing at TUI is being your true authentic self.
