  • My work experience lasted three days and included a variety of activities and webinars. We had a very informative and helpful welcome session and met our supervisors. In addition to various workshops and webinars where we learned a lot about the legal world.

  • This work experience taught me a lot of skills and training development, such as CV and interview tips, which was extremely beneficial because I gained a lot of useful skills on how to improve my CV. The sessions helped me understand legal documents because they were very informative.

  • I enjoyed a lot from this work experience, and even though it was virtual, it felt like it was in person because it was so informative and useful. It was interesting to interact with the firm's lawyers and learn how they got into the legal profession.

  • The work experience was well-organized, especially with the platform Forage, which kept me up to date on my schedule for the three days. It also had a chat box in case we had any issues, as well as all of the available resources. It was also helpful that they demonstrated how to use the platform.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • I learned a lot about the company culture from all of the lawyers who spoke to us about the firm's morals and culture, as well as how they took advantage of the volunteering projects. They were all very friendly and demonstrated how focused the work environment was. They all discussed their roles, their experiences, and how much they enjoy it.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It provided me with a good understanding of what a legal career entails and necessitates. This work experience was extremely beneficial in determining my career path because, even though I may not pursue a legal career, it was still informative and emphasised the fact that most jobs interlink with law.

  • We were not paid or reimbursed for this experience because it was virtual, so there were no additional meal or travel expenses. We were also not doing the work that you would expect to be paid for. It was more about learning and gaining an understanding of a legal career, as well as having the opportunity to hear from and interact with lawyers and solicitors.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Yes, we had the chance to network and meet other employees virtually. We had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the employees during the sessions, which was very informative and helpful. We would also talk with the team leader about their experiences during the breakout sessions.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The work experience placement was extremely beneficial, especially for someone who had no prior knowledge of the law. The opportunity provided me with a better understanding of what it is like to work at commercial law firms.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • I only took part in the virtual programme, but the most important thing is to put effort into your application and CV, as well as to prepare well for your interviews. The employees discussed the importance of grammar in applications extensively. They also stated that because law is such a competitive field, getting involved in projects like this one is a good idea.
