  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks consist of cleaning and servicing all our tools, serving customers, speaking with customers on the phone and working closely with other branches! The most important part of my job for me would be the customers. I love helping and making someones day better.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As simple as it sounds, changing the fuel from a disc cutter. I wouldnt have had a clue before working here and now it is second nature. I have developed my own personal skill - confidence! I feel like I can achieve anything.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed doing this apprenticeship. I have learnt lots of new skills, I have gained lots of knowledge and all that has been done whilst having a good time. Everyone I work with and most customers are a pleasure to see. I love coming into work!!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Every programme can have difficulties or teething problems and that is ok as long as the team behind the programme are able to rectify any issues promptly. The support from my work coach was just impecable, no problem was ever left longer than a few hours!! Amazing work!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Endless amounts, from my Tool hire manager, Branch manager, Work coach, Tool hire ops manager. If someone had the ability to help me they would with open arms I really have been looked after!

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • All the support I needed and some, no matter how much I did not understand something Matt would ALWAYS arrange a chat (video call) pretty much there and then and we would talk about the task at hand until I felt comfortable to go away and do it by myself.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • 100%! Every bit of training I have had helps me to perform better and gives me a better understanding of the environment I am working in. It also helps me to be confident in talking to customers about the tools etc as I have that knowledge.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are numerous charity events ALWAYS taking part all year round, darts teams, football and rugby days etc.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • TP are a family that anyone outside looking in would want to be a part of. I speak with people all over the country and no one tells me they cant help me we are all one team who wouldnt want to be a part of that?
